Flare gas hydrogen recovery systems are modular, 40-foot container-based units that process flare and associated gas on-site through pyrolysis — splitting the gas into pure hydrogen and a solid carbon byproduct (carbon black or graphene) instead of burning it off. Because nothing is combusted, the process produces zero CO2 emissions: this is turquoise hydrogen, the classification reserved for hydrogen made by pyrolysis rather than by burning or reforming fuel.
Gas that would otherwise be burned off becomes two usable products — with zero CO2 emissions from the conversion itself.
Deployed at the wellhead, offshore platform, or gas processing site, these units turn a waste stream into usable products while cutting flaring-related emissions at the source. Because they’re containerised and modular, they deploy at existing flare sites without major new infrastructure — a practical fit for remote or offshore locations across the GCC.
